Yeti, born April 2007, is a brown dun filly. Her dam is Hviske, a successful dreassage mare and all round pleasure to ride. For more information on Hviske, see "Our Mares" page. Yeti has been easy to work with and play with since day one. She leads ties and ponies from her mother. She can be handled on every part of her body. With her performance bloodlines and super temperament she should make some one a great friend whether they want to do trial riding or train in dressage or other competititve sport.
Yeti has been handled daily, and loved and fussed over by adults and kids alike. When we had to evacuate our horses as the 2007 Harris fire approached, Yeti's daily handling and easy going approach to life came in very handy. She loaded right into the horse trailer with no fuss - saving us much time and stress.
However she is also turned out with the moms and aunties to make sure she knows she is a horse and to learn her manners.
We have also taken Yeti on the trails around our farm so she knows more about the world. We have done this both as a pony horse and on some solo excursions.
WE have introduced lunging and ground driving to Yeti in late 2009. Like everything else she understood quilcy what was wanted and how to do it. Even for a fjord, she is a quick leaner, and has the sweetest temperament. Yeti will continue in her daily training until sold.
Zephyr is also a Hviske daughter. She has a somewhat livelier temperament than Yeti but aslo is very sweet and agreeable. She has a beautiful face. Born July 1, 2009, she is 6 months old as of this entry. She knows everything a 6 month old should and maybe more. She leads quietly and ties. She can be handled over all her body, including feet pickup. She has been clipped with the big noisy clippers. She has gone on solo tours on the lead away from the farm -including the trail crossing gate at the end of the road.
